Story of MG Farina Magnette, Chassis Number 27889

MG Magnette Mk4. Chassis number 27889, replacement engine number 48G 72477. First registered on 1st March 1966, as 'HJR194D', this smoke grey over old english white Mk4 was run by an elderly gentleman who did just 40 miles a week, but never in the rain. By about 1983 the original engine ( 11197,) ran out of oil, and siezed, and a Gold Seal exchange unit was fitted. On the cars 21st birthday, to the day, its original owner passed away. The car is immaculate, and was purchased on the 18th May 1987 by a Mr. Eric Oliver, of North Shields, Tyne & Wear, Northumberland, England, with just 32,000 miles. By the 6th of June 1990, the car had passed onto Mr. Simeon Shart, of Shipley, West Yorkshire, and now its present owner. He had found it in a Datsun Garage in his home town, and paid £1950. The mileage had risen to just 37,238.
