Story of MG Farina Magnette, Commission Number SBFWO13514
MG Magnette Mk4. Chassis number unknown, engine number 3375. RHD. (We only have the body commision number for this car, 'SBF WO13514') Built in 1962 and exported to Ceylon, this white Mk4 was used by the staff of the British Embassy. In 1966 it was returned to the UK, and given a registration 'NLF555E', fooling people it was a lot newer than infact it was!! ( UK cars carry a 'year letter' in the registration number.) The white colour was specified for 'colonial use'. Between 1969 and 1989, the car was run by several owners in the Bexhill and Hastings area, England. In May 1989 Mr. John Handley of Deal, in Kent, obtained the car, in quite good condition.
