Andrew Adamson has sent in a revised photograph and notes on Y 6041 for Ys on Parade.  Remember, you can always change your photograph / details for Ys on Parade by clicking on the modem at the top of any Ys on Parade page. Please include as a first line in the description ENTRY REVISION or words to that effect.

Following the very useful recent entry on the BBS by John Arkley concerning dynamo polarisation we have added this to the Technical Advice page too.

Please welcome Steve Simmons with YB 1547 to Ys on Parade.  Steve has bought Peter McKercher's car from Canada.  Steve will be sending some revised words and a picture in due course we have been told.

We also had our 100th entry to the guest book on Monday too!

Wiring diagrams are now available for the YB from the Technical Data page.

Nexa Autocolor have also been added to both our Links page and to the Colours page.  They were recently extremely helpful to me in my quest for the correct original formula for Almond Green (Metallic) for the respray of Y 5270.

We thought the next (chronologically sequenced from our catalogue) article on Ys a bit short, so as this month's mid-month release of Reprinted Articles you could have two!

Chanaka Jinasena has sent four new photographs of his restoration progress which have been updated to his entry for Y 0900 on Interesting Ys.

Just a quick reminder that further to our announcement on the 8 July 2003 below concerning the possibility of making full colour reproduction copies of the "first 500 miles in your MG Series Y" and the Lucas Electrical Equipment booklets for the 1 1/4 Litre Saloon and Tourer, it occurred to us that it would be helpful to post a small sample of each for you to view to assist you in your knowledge of what we are actually offering.  Click on the links above for these. We are still seeking your interest in obtaining full colour reproductions of these rare items.  To register your interest in either of these booklets contact the webmaster here and please tell me how many and of which booklet you would be interested in.  As there would need to be a fairly substantial outlay to get these printed, we would like to have a gauge of your interest first.  For further information, please see the entries on theCollectibles page.

Sally Carroll has sent in an update picture to her entry on Ys on Parade.  She writes: "I set the scene with a bright pink straw hat and lap rob and white gloves .  My daughter and I had a picnic of cucumber sandwiches and cheeses and crackers and a bottle of pink bubbly in crystal all on a linen cloth with a vase of roses.  The pink petunias in the flower bed were pure coincidence.  The old lady with the old English car will be at shows for a long time to come.  Have a serious oil leak to address. . .but she runs fine.
"MY YB (MYW 10) took a First in Class (they had put all the T's into one grouping by date) Therefore XPAG = T type at this British car day at Shaker Square. It's in Cleveland Ohio.  Next year I will only be allowed in the 'Premiere Class'  because of this first in class. We have an assortment of other firsts from other years and events to enter. . .maybe we will be allowed to park the collection together for once."
Hearty congratulations on the First place Sally, long may it continue!

Filling in yet another gap in our list of suppliers, Stevson Motors and Vintage & Classic Shock Absorbers have both been added to our Links page.  Both companies have recently done a very good job refurbishing some rear shock absorbers for a Y Type, so we are pleased to add them.

Yesterday's announcement was of interest for many of you who use eBay.  Apologies to those of you who considered this "not relevant" but I know that many of you do buy spares and odd bits and pieces from eBay.  Internet security is very sensitive, and you should always be very careful about disclosing personal information over it!

Back to normal business now!  There is a new Hint and Tip for you.

3 August 2003 - URGENT INFORMATION ALERT FOR eBAY USERS
A special alert for all eBay users - there appears to be some hoax mail flying around at the moment purporting to come from eBay - in our opinion it is not.  They are asking for "account verification" details and threatening disablement of your account if the necessary information is not provided, including PIN numbers.  The email looks genuine enough, it even provides a hyperlink purportedly directing you to an eBay site - it does not take you to an eBay site, it takes you to another site altogether.  If you actually type in the address quoted in the email that appears to be a genuine eBay address you will get an error message from eBay of Page not Found - if you follow the link "hard code" you will go to someone else's site altogether and be presented with an online form to complete.  Do not submit any information!  Should you fail to give any information and your account be restricted - contact eBay directly with a fresh email for reinstatement.  Delete the spurious emails you have received and do not answer them either - even though they appear to be seeking your advise on the genuineness of the email from eBay.  For more information type http://www2.ebay.com/aw/marketing.shtml directly into your browser Address line - you will note that I have deliberately NOT put a hyperlink so that you can test the genuineness of the address yourself!

The touring season is well underway in the northern hemisphere, and nowhere will this be more evident than on the forthcoming "Why to Exe" tour.  If you do not know what this is about yet, check out the Events listing - it is probably too late now to register, but you do not know until you ask!  Still in the vein of the
new Picture of the Month this month comes from Ken Jones of Somerset, UK, and is particularly apt!  I am sure, if he had internet access, Dennis Doubtfire would agree!

Also, please welcome Geoffrey Collett with YB 0545 to Ys on Parade.
