MGCC Luffield Speed Championship News - 1 November 2006

Hi to all competitors

Drivers meeting

I have arranged this to take place at the National Motorcycle Museum, Crows Nest Suite on January 7th 2007.
The programme will be as follows

10.30 Coffee
11.00 Drivers Meeting
13.00 Buffet Lunch

The Motorcycle Museum is accessed from the M42 Junction 6
I am assured that there will be plenty of free parking available (This is partly why we moved to Sunday)

I hope the meeting will be as last year where our discussions were informal, but built around an agenda of driver concerns.

The following subjects have been suggested for our agenda

1. Reg 1.4.4 - adjust number of "Away" events
2. Reg 1.4.6 - do we need to insist on both disciplines
3. Reg 3.2.7 - removal of (metal) bumpers on Midgets and Bs
4. Reg 1.4.9 - awards for 2nd and 3rd in class for NATIONAL, but not for Regional championship
5. Target Times - Level of adjustment and should we disregard records set more than 3 years ago.

This is quite a full agenda, but if there are other "Burning Issues" please let me know.

Many of you may well have been wondering where Iain is, The answer is Nanjing!
However he will be back for Christmas and expects to be at the drivers meeting.

Calendar
This is rapidly filling up. I have inserted two extra venues in the east of UK, which I hope will encourage our competitors that side of London.
The Prescott date has been altered in the interest of getting more entries accepted.
Prescott are promising 30 entries, so please make an effort to fill them all, I have suggested to BOC that we might need 35!
I am also asking that all the MGs are in one class.
The chieftain Sprint at Longcross may be moved to July, again to enable more entries, but this is yet to be confirmed.
We are also being invited to the Abingdon CAR-nival on 9th June. This is a charity event at which there are TWO sprints. I would urge any who can attend to try for this. Because of its unusual format I am not sure that we could make it a Championship event , but everyone who has been to it comes away with glowing praise. And it happens in Abingdon.

Attached to this mail shot is the list of award winners.
It is not too late to book your ticket for the awards dinner on November 18th
I look forward to seeing many of you there.
