In an effort to clarify the Lucas LHD 700 Headlamp as original you will find several identity markings which differ slightly. Starting at the 12 o'clock position the lamp will be marked with a small upward pointing arrow and beneath it the word TOP. Below and to left are three staggered lines. left hand drive At the 2 o'clock position is a small vertical number 553914. This seems to be on all lights. At the 6 o'clock position, 700 HEALAMP, below which is Made in England, and below that M5 or M3, and at the right a small 94 on some lamps. At the 10 o'clock position there is a variety of single letters, those seen have been A, D, B, E. I would think this is the mould number, so there could be a C. In the center is a rounded corner square with vertical ribs, and anchor design and the word LUCAS. This information was gleaned from my car and several other original TF's in Michigan and complied by Paul Probst 1997.
