Calling all Classic and Vintage Cars to Eastbourne

Eastbourne is on the look out for the biggest number yet of classic, vintage and veteran car owners and enthusiasts who would like to show off their vehicles at this year’s 5th Magnificent Motors, one of the biggest FREE motoring festivals on the South Coast.

Eastbourne beach Entries are now officially open to find an exciting range of classic and vintage vehicles to exhibit at the town’s annual motoring festival that returns to the Western Lawns from 3-4 May 2008. Eastbourne Borough Council are organising the event and looking forward to welcoming cars, motorcycles, bicycles, military and commercial vehicles, and buses, to the popular event that attracts up to 25,000 visitors each year.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said “This is an excellent opportunity for any motor enthusiast to display their vehicle to thousands of visitors while enjoying Eastbourne’s stunning seaside location. Exhibitors will be able to share their passion for all things automotive by speaking to like-minded people and will get the chance to take part in the two cavalcades along the town’s seafront. We’ve seen some unusual vehicles over the past few years but I would like to see something extra special for the festival’s 5th birthday.”

More than 500 classic and vintage cars are expected to exhibit at this year’s event and will park up on the town’s Western Lawns, Wish Tower Slopes and King Edwards Parade over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Exhibitors will be invited to take part in a seafront cavalcade to kick start each day of the event on Saturday and Sunday, with a parade celebrating the vehicles of yesteryear.

Exhibitors are being urged to register their entry quickly with applications closing on 18 April. Car clubs are also invited to enter, especially those heading for Eastbourne as their destination or celebrating a significant birthday for the model. With the Morris Minor celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, visitors to Magnificent Motors will see the vehicle timeline laid out in front of them.
