Young At Heart For 80 Year Old MGCC!

Having recently celebrated its eightieth birthday in global style, Abingdon's MG Car Club still has a serious spring its step! Nowhere is this more evident than amongst the MGCC's F and ZR/ZS/ZT Register who are continuing to gather serious momentum.

With numbers swelling and an increasing amount of events organised by this section of the MGCC, the long term prospects for the organisation are bright.

The January edition of the Car Club's historic SafetyFast! magazine features an interview with twenty-four year old Louise Allen who recently became part of the organisation's burgeoning Zed Register. Allen boasts, in many enthusiasts opinion, the most eye-catching MG ZR in Britain and was invited by the MGCC to display the vehicle at the Classic Car Show in Birmingham.

Allen's high-profile presence at the NEC followed an appearance at MGLive! in June where her immaculately present ZR set tongues wagging in the Pride of Ownership competition.

2011 sees the 10th Anniversary of the launch of the MG ZR, ZS and ZT and to celebrate the MGCC's ZR/ZS/ZT Register is organising a special event - ZedTen to be held at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire on 24 July.

Neil Mattock, MG Car Club Zed Register Chairman, said:

"The MG Car Club's Zed Register is thrilled to welcome Louise on board and her ZR certainly ranks amongst the most impressive anywhere in the World."

"We are excited about working with Louise to develop the MGCC's relationship with the owners of Zed model cars and have lots of exciting plans in the future."

"Of course 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of the Zed model cars and the celebration we are planning at Duxford promises to be spectacular and we're expecting a bumper turnout"
