MG Rally drives car enthusiasts to Arundel Castle

MG Owners Club Rally 28 April 2013

It's history but not as you know it at Arundel Castle on 28 April, when the MG Owners Club arrives for its annual rally.

Over 150 MG cars ranging in age from the late 1920s to the modern day MGF sports models will be on display in the castle grounds, as MG Owners Club members showcase their very own pieces of motoring history.

Rare cars including the early P Type sports cars and later saloon cars of the 1930s and 1940s will also be on show, alongside a number of convertible MG T's, a firm favourite among RAF and American pilots during World War Two.

Bryan McDonald, Castle Manager, comments: "We are delighted to welcome the MG Owners Club back to Arundel Castle for 2013 and are eagerly anticipating seeing which models cruise into the Castle this year. The Club's display of wonderfully preserved vehicles is always extremely popular with our visitors. Equally, the MG owners enjoy exploring the millennium of history that the Castle holds during their visit."

"I would encourage anyone interested in motoring history and car restoration to come and see this rare display of British sports cars on 28 April."

Visitors to Arundel Castle during the MG Owners Club Rally can enjoy a full day out including free-flow tours and pre booked guided tours of the finely preserved Castle rooms. These include the Barons' Hall, Regency library and Victorian bedrooms, alongside the opportunity to ascend the Norman Motte and Keep.

Arundel Castle's 40 acres of formal gardens and woodland is also ripe for exploring and include the Organic Kitchen Garden, Rose Garden, Walled Garden and exquisite "Collector" Earl's Garden. Designed in tribute to the 14th Earl of Arundel, this most recent addition to the gardens now features pergolas, fountains, gateways and pavilions leading to its centrepiece - Oberon's Palace - which houses a unique stalagmite fountain and gilded coronet dancing on a jet of water.

Access to the MG Rally is inclusive within the Castle entry fee on 28 April, with prices starting at £8.
