PRESS RELEASE - The Drayton Manor Park MG Metro Cup

CONTINUED SPONSORSHIP FOR 1998

The Championship is very pleased to confirm the ongoing sponsorhsip from Drayton Manor Theme Park and Zoo for the 1998 season. The Managing director Colin Bryan attended our Dinner and Dance with his wife and family, including ex-Metro racer George Bryan. Colin spoke of the enthusiasm and terrific spirit amongst the competitors with whom his is pleased to be associated.

HALL STEPS DOWN

Steve Hall, the MG mastermind behind the series and the man who made it all possible back in 1990/1991 has stepped down from his role as Chairman. He was presented with a framed painting of his car as a tribute to the hard work and dedication he has shown over many years representing the MG Metro Cup. He plans to continue Metro racing and will stay involved with the series in a Technical capacity.

CALENDAR FOR 1998

The season will open with the MGCC round at Cadwell Park on March 22nd. Full race dates to follow when confirmed.
