CAMBRIDGE MOTORSPORT

MGB LIGHTWEIGHT HIGH PERFORMANCE STARTER MOTOR NOW AVAILABLE

Cambridge Motorsport, the 1950's and1960's British sports car specialists have recently added a high performance, lightweight MGB starter motor to their range of Torkster starter motors. The company's preparation and development of classic cars for circuit racing and historic rallying has seen the development of a range of high quality competition parts for the enthusiast.

Roller rocker sets, race and rally clutches, aluminium radiators and race quality ignition lead sets are a few of the items available. More items are currently on the drawing board and further announcements will follow this year.

The MGB starter motors offer 300% more cranking power whilst drawing 50% less current than the standard starter. They weigh approximately half the original weight (5kg compared to 8.5 kg) and are a superb solution to the sluggish cranking associated with many MGBs.

They are suitable for all 4-synchro models 1967-81. Price: £249 + VAT.

MOOR LANE GARAGE

Moor Lane Garage the M.G. specialists in Preston Lancs are currently developing a K series conversion for the M.G. Midget.

The engine taken from any late 200 or 400 series Rover saloon will be matched to a 5 speed gearbox.

The engine comes in three sizes 1.4, 1.6 & 1.8. This superb 16v twin cam unit from Rover has been adopted by the Clubman Racing series, Caterham and Lotus.

The proprietor Tony Bolton is currently fitting an MGF engine 1.8 K series into his road going Norwester special, which he will campaign this season at most of the sprint and hillclimb events.

Tony said that the conversion will be on offer in two ways as a kit for DIY fitment or as a fully fitted drive away conversion.

A five coil over rear axle is also under development to handle the extra power.
