MG To Return to Rallying?
Rover could be be entering an MGF for the Manx Rally later
this year, to be driven by Tony Pond. Sources suggest that
the MG competititions department are to modify an MGF Cup
circuit racer, to compete in the final round of the Mobil 1
British Championship
A spokesman from Rover Cars commented "We are considering a
number of rally outings, but that is a s far as it has gone"
Tony Pond is the development driver for Rover/MG and drove
the works MG6R4 Rally Car in the 1985 World Rally
Championship. More news as we get it.
