MG success in Rallye Des Geants
Gordon Howie and Andy Gibson finished first in their class and 3rd overall in the historic section of the Rallye Des Geants based at Armentieres in France on the weekend of 7/8 March 1998. The rally, over 17 special stages on closed public roads, saw the debut of the Lenham-bodied MG Midget, built up by Gordon in 350 hours since Christmas. The 1340cc MG was only beaten overall by two Belgian
Porsche 911s.
