EVENTS: NEW ROAD RUN FOR EAST YORKSHIRE

With the continuing rise in popularity of road runs, a brand new event is being organised for 1996, on the 26th May.

Entitled the Wolds Way Classic Run, this event is open to all M.G.s from Vintage to MGF. The run is themed around the Wolds Way Long Distance Footpath and follows a route of approximately 85 miles along pleasant country lanes from Hessle to Filey. As the route keeps as close as possible to the Wolds Way, M.G. runners are guaranteed the best of the picturesque Yorkshire Wolds scenery.

Starting point for the run will be Welpton's Rover and M.G. Centre at Hessle, close to the official start of the Wolds Way LDP. Welpton's have already expressed an interest in entering an MGF for the event. The finish will be at the cliff top car park at Filey on the Yorkshire Coast close to the official of the Wolds Way.

Entry fee for the event is £10 per car which will include rally-style board, route book and guide and parking fee at Filey. All proceeds will be donated to the RNLI at Filey.

Send a stamped addressed envelope for an entry form to Stuart Mumby, 6 West End, Swanland, North Ferriby, HU14 3PE.
