MG Cars will return to Bonneville Speedweek in Utah in August 1999 in another attempt to record the fastest ever speed in an MG.
The current records of 245.64mph set by Stirling Moss in EX181 back in 1957
and 254.91mph bettered by Phil Hill in 1959, continues with the EX255 - a car loosely based on the MGF.
The attempt this year ran out of time when a late modification to the MG's induction system was identified in order to provide more power.
