17th - 19th September 1999
Goodwood Motor Circuit Revival Meeting

The countdown is on for the 1999 Goodwood Motor Circuit Revival Meeting. At 06.30 on Friday 17th September Goodwood will open the circuit gates for the last time this century and the first anniversary meeting will be under way.

MG owners across the continent are polishing their cars in preparation. There will be a car park for post 1966 MG's immediately outside the main entrance of the motor circuit and on the banking of the Lavant Straight there will be an area set aside for approximately 300 pre-1966 MG's. To reserve your space, MG owners contact 01243 755055. On the Saturday of the meeting, to celebrate the 75th birthday of MG there will be a special pre-66 MG display.

Whilst our programme is always subject to change, the line up for this fantastic three-day event is gaining speed at the same rate as the F1's. Former Grand Prix driver Jackie Oliver has been invited to take part while five times Le Mans-winner Derek Bell and former F1 driver Richard Attwood have been confirmed. Derek Bell will drive one of three Ferrari 312s while Attwood will be at the wheel of the ex-Stewart BRM P261. Jack Brabham will race Bruce McCaw's McLaren-BRM M5A in what looks like being a great race.

The Goodwood Revival meeting will also feature Damon Hill in the TT driving a Ferrari GTO, Johnny Herbert in a Jaguar E-type lightweight, Martin Brundle in an Aston Martin and Barry Sheene on a Manx Norton. Stirling Moss will be driving a variety of cars to celebrate his 70th birthday, John Surtees will be in a Ferrari in the RAC TT Celebration race and Indycar star Danny Sullivan will be back after his famous victory in the Glover Trophy last year. There will also be a special tribute to Rob Walker, the man who guided Stirling Moss to so many of his early victories and who famously entered his cars in the navy blue and white colours of the R.R.C. Walker Racing Team.
