MG TO FEATURE AT MOUNT STUART MOTORSPORT CLASSIC

MG XPOWER will have a strong presence at the new Mount Stuart Motorsport Classic event. The biggest MG attraction is likely to be the MG Lola EX257 which competed in the LMP675 Class at this year’s 24 Heures du Mans. Powered by the MG XPOWER 2-litre, four-cylinder turbo unit the car was piloted around the 8.5 mile Le Sarthe circuit by Mark Blundell, Julian Bailey and Kevin McGarrity.

The MG ZR Super1600 Rally Car will be taking part in the Mount Stuart Rallysprint Classic on Sunday. The car, usually driven by Gwyndaf Evans, will on this occasion be driven by motorsport celebrities. Gwyndaf along with his co-driver Chris Patterson has been competing in the Junior World Rally Championship and selective rounds of the Pirelli British Rally Championship.

The MG TF500 completes the line-up and is guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. Based on the UK’s top-selling roadster MG TF, the MG TF500 is powered by the 2-litre Le Mans development engine giving an output of over 500Ps. Much of the original structure remains but the wider track, wider tyres, flared wheel arches, side-skirts and high-mounted rear spoiler make the car look radically different.

The trio of MGs will be on display at Mount Stuart House, Island of Bute on 21 and 22 September.
