UK Sightseeing Tour for Car Enthusiasts
Friday March 26, 2004 to Thursday April 8, 2004

Why not take the opportunity to spend a week or two exploring the UK with a group of car enthusiasts?

The provisional itinery is shown in the table on the right. You can choose between two locations or join the tour for both.

You will be responsible for the travel to and from your chosen portion of the tour. For those of you not in the UK, we may be able to help you organise your travel.

When you arrive at the Cotswolds, the tours will use a private deluxe coach. The week will be based in the village of Winchcombe. Our accommodations will be in self-catering cottages on the beautiful grounds of historic Sudeley Castle. During the week a variety of day trips and activities will be included. The itinerary is tentative at this time but we will plan to visit Stratford-upon-Avon, take a steam railway journey, spend a morning in a traditional market town, visit Kenilworth and Warwick Castles, go to the Morgan Factory and the Motor Heritage Trust Centre. There will also be time for exploring the villages, Sudeley Castle and its gardens, and hiking in the surrounding countryside (if you wish.) The cottages accommodate 3 to 5 people (depending on the number of bedrooms) and have fully equipped kitchens, along with nicely furnished living rooms (two even have working wood fireplaces.) Each cottage is different and has its own character. During the week in the Cotswolds, two dinners will be included. Other meals will be on your own.

We will transfer via our private deluxe coach to London on Friday, April 2nd for seven nights. Our London hotel is a traditional hotel in the South Kensington/Earls’ Court area. Rooms are small (some can be similar to a cruise ship size), but nicely furnished with TV and phone. English Continental breakfast (everything but hot items) is included, and a full English breakfast is available at an additional charge. There is a guest lounge with bar for relaxing in the evening, which we did almost every night on both adventures, to discuss our activities and enjoy a beer or glass of wine. We’re only a block from the London underground, but on a quiet side street in a residential area. Most of your time in London will be on your own, but we will arrange some activities for the entire group. We’re still finalizing these, but at this time we hope to arrange a private "London Explorer Day" led by one of London Walks knowledgeable and entertaining guides, and a private tour of the highlights of the British Museum. We will be available with sightseeing suggestions throughout the week and will help you get used to using the London underground so you’ll find it easy to get around. We can also obtain advance group rate tickets for you, if you wish, for the Tower of London, London Eye, open air bus tour and so on. One dinner in London will be included in the trip price.
