John Bourke's Engine Build

Click on the images for a larger version

A top view of the engine during assembly - NB tubular steel pushrods
View of LH rocker gear/valve train - you can just see the silicon manganese bronze valve guides which I was recommended should be used with unleaded by Rovercraft (who built the heads)
A view of my - er - shed which had to act as as an engine building workshop!
Shows front of engine during rebuild NB Kent Cams timing chain and vernier gears and Ken Bell cam 'bumper' to prevent cam walk. Block is a 30A vitesse stiff block (not that that means much with all those 3.9s around!)
Shows the top of the engine during the build-heads are mildly ported-cam Kent 214
