Yep. Just bought a replacement battery for my cordless Dyson from a supplier in Nottingham. It took ten days to turn up. From Malaysia. |

Agree, there is an increasing number of sellers who have no warehouse and no stocks. They wait for a buyer and only then do they order in, often getting the item delivered direct to you so they never actually handle it. Apart from the extended time factor, you also run in to all sorts of problems if you need to return it for any reason! |

I've also noted that some sellers who have UK addresses have stocks which are actually in China. What they do is 2 days after you have bought something they book a couriers and provides a tracking number via ebay. Then there is a mysterious delay which they blame on the courier. When the item arrives by air from China it is already packaged, they stick the couriers label on it then dispatch it. By... |

I replaced the cross pin and the two bevel gear 'olive' spacers on mine. No need at all to disturb the crown wheel and pinion. On mine the aim was, as yours, to reduce the backlash. It was at the road wheel rim, about 2 &1/2" down to around 1 /2" |

I had a slight drip from the diff pinion seal. Try as I might I couldn't shift the flange nut in situ and have had to remove the diff from the car. Even then, with a 4 ft length of angle iron bolted to the flange and a 5 ft length of pipe over the longest bar in my socket set it was still a struggle. The diff was nice and quiet but there is some backlash in the bevel gears. I am inclined to leave ... |

Another real annoyance to me is to buy something, expecting delivery in 2 to 3 days and the order confirmation comes back stating a date 3 weeks hence! I usually check the seller's details but even a UK address doesn't then guarantee the stock itself doesn't come from much further afield (ie China) |

New battery arrived so now fitted. Car hasn't run in 18 months. I put a little 3:1 oil in each cylinder the night before. |

Not just the narrower seating position. The Minor rack is behind the engine, whereas the Spridget rack is in front. The much longer steering column of the Spridget would put the wheel further out, without correction. |

Bill is right. Rack designed for a car (Morris Minor, or was it a Triumph?) where driver was seated further out from centre line of the car, and steering column therefore angled out a little more. Shim reduces that angle to suit the narrower Spridget seating position. |
