American Stripping in Sacramento CA aluminized my exhaust manifold and clamps.
    http://www.americanstrippingsacramento.com/metalSpray.html

The surface has no sheen, so dirty hands will probably make their mark. Oil from the breather tube between the valve cover and air cleaner on my TF dripped onto the manifold. It burned off. But you can see some other splatters didn't in this photo. ...

Definitely keep it! As soon as you sell it you'll suddenly find you'll need it.
I skipped a couple of original lever arm dampers many years ago...

Nice idea Peter; that's a winter's evening task!

Question is answered - only one day if the car is driven.

I followed the instructions of the manufacturer. Before using I'd asked him if a primer is necessary. That was negated. Just spray and everything will be okay, wait 24 hours, no need for careful heating.

And yes I'd degreased it two times( 1. wash petrol, 2. degreaser from my paintshop).

    Hi Ian,

Look at the web pages for Vehicle Wiring Products or better still ask them for one of their catalogues. They sell suitable plugs and sockets and the cost is minimal. I made my dash wiring removable but left the heavy cable to the ammeter continuous albeit with enough slack to pull the facia forwards to get to the terminals on the gauge.

    Hi Declan,

Yep I have just been looking at a cross sectional drawing of the engine. Oil under pressure enters the rear bearing from the gallery and exits from each side. For the inner it simply runs down into the sump. At the outer side it collects and runs down the drain tube, again into the sump. The scroll should prevent any of this leaking to the rear of the flywheel. I now concur wit...

Both cars are now blue so that's confusing Nick. Even more so when you add in the blue Volvo!

The manifold has been on the 1275 Sprite. Which has an MG Metro head with bigish valves It seemed happy enough with it.

Not so happy yesterday on flooded roads. After about the 7th flooded section it got doused enough to splutter and give up. But then so had several much bigger cars, in...

Agree with Bill. Fifty percent power increase with no issues of quirky performance and almost a straight swap

Peter: I am nut sure the nuts were aluminized but just plain cad. The clamps were certainly aluminized though.
