I also can make a spare key, cut by code; american key blank. Key number range, MRN; 01 thru 50, FNR; 01 thru 25, FA, 501 thru 625, FP; 626 thru 750, FS; 876 thru 955 and FT; 101 thru 225. The number is stamped on face of the ignition switch on early cars. The number is also stamped on glove box housing and on the trunk handle stem. I can de-code you present american key if you can not locate the number. You can also send me the lock, if unable to locate the number. On later MGB's no key number is stamped on the switch lock. I would suggest you get a build record for the data. You could also contact a locksmith in your area, see if they offer the key service known as "impressioning" The lock smith will insert a un-cut key into the lock, work the key back and forth, makes a small file mark to cut; you will have a key to work your lock.
