The Settle Weekend

18th 20th March

The guests of Steve Hall began to arrive at Settle around 3 to 4 pm Friday and booked into the guesthouse. Later in the evening we all met up in a local pub for drinks, socialising and an evening meal.

Saturday morning, after a full English breakfast we set out to find our designated walk. This had been arranged earlier and the route of the walk took us around wonderful scenery at a small lake above Ambleside in the Lake District.

To get there we had to cross water that required a trip on a chain operated ferry. That was quite an experience in itself. In the late afternoon everyone was free to spend their time as desired. In the evening we once again assembled to enjoy each others company and a pleasurable evening meal.

Sunday Morning and another breakfast. Most of the guests then left to find another pre-designated walk along the river at Bolton Abbey. This is a popular attraction and I am sure everyone enjoyed the Abbey scenery and late lunch before setting off for home.

Many thanks to Steve Hall for making our weekend very special
