Forties Night
East Kirkby Aviation Heritage Museum

Friday 2nd September

A dozen Lincolnshire Centre members donned their Forties Gear and set off for East Kirkby Aviation Heritage Museum for an evening of excellent music and socialising in the hanger housing 'Just Jane', the Avro Lancaster.

A flypast by the Battle of Britain flight's Lancaster 'City of Lincoln' and one of their spitfires got the evening off to a real forties feel. It was absolutely spectacular with both aeroplanes coming in from every direction to give us the most wonderful views.

The CS Big Band played music from the forties combined with the various uniforms filling the hanger took us all back in time.

The evening raised funds for BBC Radio Lincolnshire 'Going for Gold' Appeal and is an annual event.

We plan to be there in 2006 - will you be joining us?
