Holland Brothers Trophy Navigational RallySunday 15th OctoberThe Lincolnshire Wolds are the ideal place to take your MG on a sunny Sunday . . . The White Hart Inn at Tetford was the ideal setting for the starting point of the Holland Brothers Trophy Rally organised by Alan Bankhurst. Bacon Butties and Coffee helped get our bodies and minds ready while we tried to plot the shortest route to visit five red and five black reference points on the map. Driving around looking for telephone boxes and pubs might seem like an odd combination, but it certainly kept eleven MGs, each with two occupants, busy for several hours. Questions such as 'Hands on his TIME?' and 'What's the Nag's number?' floored some of us, but we all had a most enjoyable day. Trying to reduce the miles travelled by reversing back up the road did not help those who tried this ploy. It turned out to be vital to get ten correct answers and use as few miles as possible as four cars achieved the full 10 out of 10! Mr A W Smith had 'hands on his time' and the Nag's Head sign was made before the introduction of a 1 in STD codes hence '0507' not '01507'. Thanks to Alan & Elaine Bankhurst and Peter & Jean Ellis for their hard work both before and after the Rally ensuring a good time for all.
