National Construction College Autotest and Social GatheringSunday 4th June

A gloriously sunny morning beckoned over 18 intrepid individuals to the first round of the MG Car Club Anglia Autotest Championship at the National Construction College, Bircham Newton, near Kings Lynn. Amongst the spectators and marshals cars we had a J Type and a T Type right through to two MG Metro’s and a ZT. There were Seven competitors with a Honda Civic, MG Montego, Midget, MGBs and an MGA. As we finished the last test the skies started to darken and as we all cleared the site the first showers of rain started to fall. Fortunately the showers were brief although persistent through the afternoon as we had our Bar-B-Que at the Sherbourne Club, while I worked out the results for the autotest. First apologies to Graham and Robert for announcing your positions incorrectly at the end of the Bar-B-Que I had typed in one of Grahams times in twice! FTD went to me with Peter Thompson a very close second just 0.15 seconds behind! Graham Wills came third with Robert Taylor in fourth just 1.13 seconds behind! John Collier came fifth with George France sixth and Lynne Wills in seventh. Looking through the times it’s clear to see that everyone hit a cone or did a wrong test but the times were all very close. I got seven fastest tests, Peter got four and Robert Taylor got one fastest test in his MGA. If anyone wants a full spreadsheet of the results please email me stating which format you would prefer. bruce.cox@btinternet.com Don’t forget the second round will be at Lee Farm, Great Ashfield, near Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk on Sunday 24th September. The third round will be at Massingham Airfield, Great Massingham, near Kings Lynn, on Sunday 15th October. Hope to see you all there. Bruce (bruce.cox@btinternet.com) Return to Reports Page |
