The Lincolnshire Centre Annual Dinner Dance

The Lincolnshire Centre have organised an Annual Dinner Dance and Award Ceremony for as long as I can remember. However there was a first one and that was in 1973 at the Fortesque Arms in Tattershall.

Of course an important part of the dinner is our 3 course meal. This is followed by the presentation of the awards, given to the members who have been successful in our competitive events during the year.and then we draw the raffle. Oh yes we have a raffle, the dinner would not be the same without it. After all that excitment the night continues with a disco dance and friends enjoying a social evening together. Many of our members stay the evening and we always negotiate favourable room rates.

next year's dinner dance will be held on the 13th February 2021

Annual Dinner Dance and Prize Giving

Saturday 21st January 2017

I hope everyone had a fabulous time at our annual dinner, alot of effort goes into it's organisation and I believe it is of absolute importance to our enjoyment of our club and cars that we have a successful event each year. With that in mind please encourage all who enjoy MG Cars and MG Events to make a note in their diaries for next years dinner dance.

Please may I thank everyone involved but more importantly to thank Vicky and William Ball for joining us at our Dinner Dance. William brought with him the California Cup and BMC Trophy so we could celebrate together and also presented our awards, hope they come next year.

Sorry for the pictures taking a long time to get posted but to get everything formatted and placed on the site plus ensure to the best of my ability that all the facts are right takes a good few hours work for a number of nights :) . If anyone has more photos please send them in and I will post them all.

Our 2016 dinner dance was again at the Bentley hotel Lincoln

Discount rates on rooms were available for guests who prefered to stay the evening and inc Bed & Breakfast. Rates included free use of all Leisure Facilities.

This year we had 24 more guests than in 2015 which was a real tonic for our organisers. Of course we never know what the true feelings are of the attendees but I didn,t hear any problems and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. On top of this we would like to congratulate all our trophy winners and we would love you all to compete just as keenly in the year ahead. I did noticed a couple of tiny things that require better organisation next year and these will be addressed. Until then on behalf of the Lincolnshire centre committee thanks to all for their support and kind words.

Here is a photographic record of the evening

Kenwick Park's Adam was our Master of Ceremonies and introduced our Chairman John Laurence to welcome everyone to the 2014 Dinner and then Ena Fox said the Grace.

Following a tasty meal, the formal part of the evening began and Adam called on our Vice Chairman Robert Welch to talk us all through the Trophies & Awards . . .

Robert began by explaining "There is a lot of work behind the scenes to get these beautiful trophies engraved and the replicas purchased and we have John Hebb, Kevin Pateman and Geoff & Vicki Edge to thank for organising this. Also on the Trophy Committee for 2013 were Ian & Sue Mackenzie and David Stonehouse. They all deserve your applause.

(Here are some images of all the wonderful awards we give out yearly)

Robert then introduced MG Car Club Director Peter Skipper who kindly agreed to present the Awards.

"Traditionally we commence with the Competitive Awards and the winners of the Autotest Trophies are . . .
