December's notes are the most difficult of the year. There have been no SW Centre events since the last issue of Safety Fast! (unfortunately, the Kimber Production Car Trial was cancelled), it's a bit too early to review the 2004 season (I'll do that next month) and I've no details of any 2005 events to give you. Anyway, I'll try my best…

I can, of course, tell you about SW Centre Dinner on Saturday 5th March 2005. The venue is the Limpley Stoke Hotel near Bath. Presentation of awards for the SW Centre Driver's Championship shall follow the dinner, and there will also be presentation of some awards from the Luffield MGCC Speed Championship. Tickets are £18 and available from John Bird - either download the details from the SW Centre website or call him on 0117 956 0175. John has arranged a preferential room-rate that might just provide the encouragement you need to make a night of it.

The SW Centre Driver's Championship scores are provisional as I write, but it looks like Rob Orford has shaded it in his MG BGT. Dave Mothersdill is in second place with his TC and Midget, and yours truly is third in the go-faster BGT. The top ten covers the whole age range (of cars and drivers!) and proves that anybody, in any car, has a chance of winning next year's championship.

I always include a plug for the website when I'm looking to fill up space! The website is a veritable encyclopedia of all things 'SW Centre'. It includes details of every event in the calendar, most of which you can enter by downloading a form direct to your own computer. I know, I know - you've not all got computers. But I encourage those of you that are 'on-line' to pay the website a visit soon.

With my narrative just about dried up, I'll finish with a couple of photos this month. Both come from the camera of Phil Archer, a regular contributor of reports and pictures. The first is of Jim Lott in his MG ZS at the Oaksey Gymkhana and Flying Day. The second is of Dave Mothersdill in his TC Special at the Pucklechurch Gymkhana.

See you soon?
