Firstly a big thank you to Neil Lock who has written all our centre notes
for the last 3 years. The notes will now be written by other members of the committee on a rotating basis,
although I have a feeling Neil will still be watching over us.
Congratulations to Bruce Morgan who won the centre Drivers Championship for 2006, a well deserved, win
entering all the different types of event and using 2 different class cars. The other class winners were
Mike Hawke, Phil Archer, Neil Lock, Anthony Marsden (by 0.1 point), Jim Lott and Carole Brown (ladies award}
The Centre has always been proud to occupy one of the main stands at the Bristol Classic Car Show, where we
have a reputation for showing a selection of truly classic M Gs. Cars featured this year were an 1930 M
type, 1933 L1 Magna, 1949 TC and 1960 MGA Coupe.
The stand provides a focal point for car club members to visit and the opportunity to show the fine heritage
of our cars to the many visitors who stop by for a chat. These cars were loaned by; Keith Portsmore, Bob
Jones, Andrew Oust, and Terry Drinkwater and the stand was once again organised by Bruce Weston.
March 25th is the ever popular Naviscat Rally which this year moves from the Cheddar Valley to South
Gloucester.
In this modern world of satnavs and other boring electronic aids, this event focuses on using traditional
maps and having a navigator sitting in the passenger seat. If this all sounds a bit too daunting, this year
we have a special introductory offer of a pre planned route to follow for a separate class. You will need to
speak to the organisers about this in advance The event is on Sunday morning and the best bit is the pub
lunch at the finish. Be there.
The Kimber Classic Trial on April 21st could be described as an
adventurous journey through some of Dorsets' finest countryside, interrupted by some steep and muddy hills
to climb. A dinner in the evening and a gymkhana the following morning, what more could you want. If you are
not into driving in mud, come and watch or join the teams at the leisurely lunchtime halt at Sparkford. More

We intend to run an Autotest practise day this season in the Bristol area. This will provide the opportunity
for first timers including youngsters and their friends to have a go. Your car will not need to be an MG but
you will get the opportunity to drive at speed around an Autotest course. Some of our regular autotesters
will be there to pass on a few tips. More details soon.
The picture this month Mike Wright's TD competing in the Autumn Production Car Trial and comes courtesy of
Richard Lucking who has the best ever collection of MG event photos on his website. Pay him a visit on www.lucking.org
Finally, remember, if your MG has a hood, do drive with it down. Its much more fun!
