GP 100 - Gerald Palmer event

GP100 is an event to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Gerald Palmer, designer of cars such as the Jowett Javelin, Wolseley 4/44, MG Z Magnette, and Riley Pathfinder. In a long career, starting in commercial vehicles, Palmer was briefly involved with MG before WWII, and afterwards at Jowett he developed all aspects of the innovative Javelin design.

Joining Morris in 1949 with responsibility for their new Riley, Wolseley and MG saloons, he eventually rose to become BMC Chief Engineer, and is now recognized as one of the most influential figures in post-war British car design. The twin-ccam 'B' engine that powered racing MGAs and the record-breaking EX181 was also Palmer's idea.

The event will be held on Saturday 28th May 2011 at Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon.
