The announcement of the MGF Cup Season heralds the return of the factory MG’s to motor sport.
Because of the enthusiasm of so many of its customers and as one of the UK’s leading MG dealers, Trident was prompted to support this programme by buying and running their own race car for the 1998 season.On Tuesday 24th March, over 100 invited guests attended the offical launch of Team Trindent, at the companys premises in Weybridge.

Gold Car! - That will do nicely!

Team Trident took part in the initial testing at Silverstone on Thursday 19th March. The car performed well with also many commenting on it being the best looking car on the track. The cars are all been delivered in white or red.and many teams had utilised graphics over the base colour to finish their cars which lead to a number of red and white based combinations on the track. In order to stand out, Team Trident decided to strip the car and respray it in a very strong metallic gold. The result, as you see, is that Trident have created a stunning car!

When Trident decided to compete in the MGF Cup it was also decided vital to sign up a top driver. Ray Armes, is a former British Touring Car Championship class winner, his track record is impressive, it includes a win in the Dunlop Rover GTi Championship, also spells in the National Saloon Car Cup, Volkswagen Vento VR6 Challenge,the Porsche Cup and last year the Privilege Insurance British GT Championship. And in 1998?........
