CASTLE COMBE SALOONS STAY WITH PAGID

Pagid, the performance braking specialist, has announced its continued sponsorship of the popular car championship at the Castle Combe Circuit.

Now entering its 5th year, the Pagrid Performance Braking Saloon Car Championship is one of the country’s most competitive, attracting full grids of cars and closely fought competition.

The three classes of car closely resemble their road going counterparts, running on road tyres and with limited modifications. Many of the leading competitors use the products of the sponsor which is an original equipment supplier to the likes of Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari and McLaren.

Jim Harris, U.K. Sales Manager for Pagid said: "we are so pleased with the results from out first year of backing the championship, especially as the duel for the title went down to the wire. The battles in each class mean that at each meeting, spectators are seeing three races in one. Next year should be even closer, with the B and C classes giving the big boys a real run for their money".

This year’s Class A winner was Russell Humphrey in a Vauxhall Astra 2.0 litre, Class B went to Tony Dolley in a Vauxhall Corsa and Class C to Julian Howell in a 1.4 litre Mini. All three will be presented with their trophies at the B.R.S.C.C. Dinner Dance on November 7.

Regulations for the 1999 championship are available from Pat Strawford at the circuit office on 01249 782417.
