MG Cars Press Release

Today (July 11) MG Cars announce an MGF SE - available for the first time in Wedgwood Blue and featuring 'Special Equipment' items - exclusively for the UK market.

The SE is specified with many complementary features aand distinguished by its Wedgwood Blue paintwork and 16" multi-spoke alloy wheels, with 215/40ZR tyres. The exterior is enhanced further with a chrome pack - which includes chrome door handles, wire mesh grille and side air intakes - a body-coloured rear boot spoiler and a windstop for open-top comfort.

Inside the all-black full leather seats are matched with an ash grey fascia and door casings, silver finish centre console and fascia vent surrounds and a CD tuner for wider music selection to the six-speaker system.

The MGF SE 1.8i is priced (on the road) at £18,270, £19,270 for the Steptronic and £20,495 for the top performing 1.8i VVC. Production is limited to 500, with deliveries to showrooms from July onwards.

John Sanders, Group Marketing Director commented: "The popularity of MG is testimony to its product character and brand value. A value we cherish and indeed plan to extend in the course of future developments."

The MGF has been the UK's best selling sports car since 1996 and the introduction of the 2000 MY in Autumn 1999 has continued the demand with a market domination of 25% in the sports car and coupe sector in 2000.
