1972 Costello V8 MGB Roadster : KMG 636K
Body: Looks standard MGB except for larger wheels and tyres, black honeycomb grille with chrome surround (2nd B type grill); large bore exhaust. Exterior is good, interior also good bar carpets which are shabby. Car was built as new (log book shows Costello as first owner 3 months before being sold to first private owner).
Colour: Red bodywork (recently re-sprayed); grey faded duck hood (Red piping) and black leather interior (also red piped); Wood rim steering wheel. Rear bumper slightly bent on n/s. GB 6=J Minilite wheels on 185/70 Yokohamas; Black cross-strut roll-over bar.
Mechanically:
Engine No.: 84000491; Chassis No.: 260549G
Weber carbueretted version therefore no bonnet bulge. Engine gas flowed & ported with lightened flywheel. Has armorflex oil pipes (pending oil cooler if we could decide where it might fit); Gearbox is 4-speed MGC box with overdrive on 3rd & 4th (overdrive switch is on gear lever, not dash); Has anti-tramp bars to rear; ventilated discs on front.
This is a rare car and is readily identifiable and very noticeable especially if started up as exhaust system is straight-through.
Recorded mileage: approx. 12,500 (2nd time round the clock)
Chelsea Police Station's reference is: 5600777/96V
The thieves may not know what they have stolen thinking it a standard MGB however it is one of only approx. 40 built.... Please help ! I want it back !!!!!
