BRITISH TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP - ROUNDS 17 & 18 DONINGTON - MG AIM TO IMPRESS HOME CROWD

Buoyed by their double win at Brands Hatch, MG Sport and Racing visit Donington race track this weekend determined to do well in front of the home crowd for the Midland car manufacturer.

Winner of Round 15 Warren Hughes said: “We are definitely optimistic on the back of the Brands Hatch result. My car is not carrying too much weight in the first race and Anthony Reid and I know the track well as we used to work at the race drivers school there”.

The MG ZS EX 261s have been the in-form team of the second half of the 2003 BTCC season and have equaled their wins tally of 2002 with four rounds still to go.

Anthony Reid said: “Our recent form has been very exciting and our target must be to exceed last year’s total of wins, the ballast spread on the MG's also means that each of us has a chance to do well this weekend

MG was the highest points scoring team at Brands Hatch and Colin Turkington the highest individual scorer.

Winner of Round 16 at Brands Hatch Colin Turkington said: “The reaction to my first BTCC win has been fantastic; the phone just kept ringing and I was on the TV news at home in Northern Ireland. Of course, my car will be carrying maximum success ballast for the first race, but we are positive we have found a good set up for the car and expect to do well again”.
