Brooklands MG Special update

An MG Special once raced at Brooklands is at present undergoing engine rebuild and is to be returned to roadworthy condition hopefully in time for 2005 its 75th birthday.

The car started life as a Morris Minor Saloon in 1930 but early in its life acquired a 2 seater sports body akin to an MG J4.

The chassis is all that remains of the original car, the rest of it is now MG parts including a very early XPAG type engine with MG TC Head.

The car attended the Brooklands Reunion of 1990 and was used on the road and was put into store for some years.

The car was owned for a number of years by the son of a famous ex-Brooklands mechanic who often worked on the car.

The car it is hoped will participate in the 2007 Centenary Brooklands Reunion.
