University Motors Ltd (USA) to Celebrate 30 Years!

University Motors Ltd (USA) of Ada, Michigan, will celebrate their 30th Birthday on Saturday, January 22nd, 2005 at their works. All MG and British car enthusiasts are invited to attend. Festivities begin at Noon and last until 4:00pm. Enthusiasts and club members are invited to “beat those winter blues,” meet other MG owners, renew old friendships, view MG videos, inspect recent shop improvements (the redesigned machine shop), sign up for the 2004 Technical Seminars, plan their MG summer, and join the local West Michigan “Old Speckled Hen” MG Car Club. Club members may inspect the stunning silver Nuffield Cup awarded by the MG Car Club to the local club. John Twist will collect a small donation of $3.00 at the door to help defray party expenses.

The hosts, John Twist and Caroline Robinson, will have chili, crackers, chips, pretzels, soda, and adult beverages. The 5/50 raffle will benefit the West Michigan MG Association (that’s Myasthenia Gravis, a muscular disease). The winning raffle ticket will be drawn, the birthday cake will be cut, and announcements will be made at 2:30pm.

The shop will be at its cleanest and on display will be a 1937 MGVA, a 1969 MGC/GT, a 1968 MGB California roadster, a factory 1973 MGB/GT V8, plus an MGTD, MGA, Morris Minor…..

University Motors Ltd (USA) was formed in August 1973 and began trading, full time, on January 25th, 1975, at 614 Eastern Avenue in Grand Rapids. The firm moved in May, 1994, to its present location on Fulton Street in Ada, Michigan. University Motors was named after the original University Motors in Hanwell, W7, where John Twist worked for a year 1972-1973.
