Renaissance
-
First, a bit of an explanation; during my university days in the
mid-to-late 1970s, a number of us were fans of a British art-rock band
called Renaissance. We made the pilgrimage to a number of their
concerts, and at a 1977 performance in St Louis, Missouri, the concert
program was a foldout which happened to feature several photos of the
band posing with an MGB and a Midget. Also with prominent pints of
Watney's; this was something of a composite advert...
Anyway, time passed. Eighteen years after that concert, I became an MG
owner. One frustrating afternoon recently, I tore the house apart trying
to find my copy of that poster. Alas, it seemed to have disappeared. But
one of my college chums lives in the area, and still has his copy. In
short order, I was able to scan two of the best photos (the cover and
the foldout)
Both are hosted at the Renaissance web site and were supplied by Gryf Ketcherside
