MGF Super Sports

Geneva Motor Show March 1998

Rover has used the Geneva Motor Show to unveil a Supercharged MGF concept car. The styling of EX254, or MGF Super Sports has recieved a mix reaction, but the prospect of a road going Supercharged MG has got everyone excited. Rover have said that no final decision has yet been made about the production of a road going Supercharged MGF. But that said, it is no secrect, that such a car is on the way, (rumours suggest by the year 2000) the supercharged version of the 1.8 litre K series engine produces something like 200bhp

Lots of chrome, and an extended bootlid acts as a spoiler
The MGF Super Sports is fitted with stylish 8 spoke alloy wheels

White leather seats, with red stitching, and a five point sports seatbelt

In addition to the supercharged engine, the MGF-based Super Sports includes uprated brakes and suspension and reinforced front and rear subframes. However, the use of aluminium body panels means the car is 62kg lighter than the current road-going MGF. The MGF Super Sports has a set of very nice 8 spoke alloy wheels, and shod with some wide and ultra low profile tyres
