I should have said I don't think it's possible. They are handed.

It may be something to do with the relative angles, but to me it looks like the offside end of the ARB is in line with, or even a touch outboard of, the outer mounting bolt for the drop link bracket.
But the nearside end appears to be well inboard of the middle bolt.
If so that would account for the dissimilar angles of the links.
I don't even know if it's possible to fit a RH link on th...

74c (165F) water stat could start to open at 72c75.5c (162f168f) and should be fully open at 80.5c86.5c (177f188f) so within 85c (185f) thermoswitch and its tolerances probably.

To me the water stat, electric switch and gauge never seem to exactly agree with each other.

I recently dismantled a 1275 gearbox and was surprised to find that both the drain and filler plugs were 3/4 AF.

Ive only ever seen 11/16 filler plugs. It does appear to have been a Goldseal box, so I dont know if that would have any bearing on it.

Anyone else seen anything other than 11/16 ?

The left does look a bit odd, could it be upside down and/or a RH, I don't know, sorry.

I do know that modern made rubber can be piss-poor and possibly like me you made the mistake by changing original drop-links that seem to last many decades for modern made ones that might only last months.

If you have your original drop links still put them back on or at least compare the LH l...

I fitted a new 72C thermostat, having tested it in hot water. The engine runs at exactly the same temperature, about 200F. Not right. But the cooling fan switch is 85F and almost never comes on. Confusing! Even though I have calibrated the gauge, either it is wrong or the switch is. The gauge sensor is in the head and the switch is above the thermostat. So if the stat is open at 72 the switch ...

Never knew XPAG or XPEG to be anything else other than what you see, individual letters. I'm sure the cell phone texters could figure some way to change them to something else LOL!! PJ

I have dug out an old PCV valve - the standard 1098 one, with a new diaphragm. This normally fits to the rear branch of the MG Metro manifold that I have, but I have this time connected it to the vacuum point on the carb. It seems more sensible than feeding oil vapour to only 2 cylinders.

Peter - I've looked at the Calver kit and it's much cheaper and obviously works quite differently. Do y...
