* Jukka Selenius's AH Sprite was raced in Finland's Historic Race Gulf Historic Cup. The two races were problematic with the top gasket, until we found out that the water pump brace was some 0,3 mm too high above the block level. It kept the top just a bit open and it spat fire in rounds 1-2 so that I had to come to the pits. The block of my Sprite has been slightly lowered, but the same happens easily with Cooper S. For next season Weber 45 DCOE and Piper 649+ Abdington good old race cam. With 286 cam and Weber 40 DCOE the power out put seized to 5950 and I think that it was lack of fuel. Next season I am going to beat at least the Coopers on dry track so everything seems good.

It was originally 5-linked at the rear with a Panhard Rod but the new system is copied from a single seater racing set up and gives much greater stability in corners. It's trimmed in the usual leather seats and standard trim. And at less than 700kg it's fun to drive as well! Another view. Brian Cameron is ex MD of British Motor Heritage.

* Allegra LeGrande's 1963 Midget MkI This is technically a '64 MG midget, but its engine serial numbers are those of a '63. I restored it with my grandfather beginning six years ago. I know that the original top and interior were black, but because this car was going to be under the hot Texas sun during the day, I decided to change the colors to tan. Its original exterior paint was red. Now, my car lives on the campus of Rice University in Houston, Texas where I attend school and continue to restore my car.

AH Sprite MK III -65 which is prepared for historic racing on track. The pictures are from a set of pictures for FIA regognition passport. The car is built according to AH MK III homologation papers and FIA appendix K and as it will have the FIA Historic passport I am allowed to race all over the world in FIA Historic events where a suitable class is raced. My Healey belongs to age grop F (pre 31.12.-65) In the passport pictures the car must have bumbers but actually they are forbidden in asphalt trac racing.
Seen again on the main straight bend to the right at Ahvenisto racetrack in Hameenlinna in Finland. The race track is some 40 years old and it is in the middle of nature park. The track is situated on two sides of a large hill and it is spectacular to race due to mickey mouse charcter and almost no security areas. If you drive out you crash! I have had a lot of trouble with my 1098 cc engine and it does not seem fast enough to Abarths, Cooper S cars and also Spitfire is faster. The car handles so well with Detroit locker and good suspension. Now I race in age group F (-65 and earlier) but I think that I will change to G which is 66-72. The 1300 cc engine and 100 kgs lighter than Coopers should do. More information at www.spriteracing.com

Bought complete, drivable but in bad shape in 2001. Not really knowing what is going to happen in the future in 2002 I started a complete renovation works. I was terrified when I found out the true state of the car. I thought I was going to kill myself. I completed all works in August 2005, after 3 years. It was very detailed and precise renovation. It was worth it. Since then I have got a few prizes. It is my satisfaction. I got a big help from your professional website when I found many useful technical information as well as inspiration to complete the car. I am happy you like the car and the pictures from the race ECCE HOMO HISTORIC 2005 in the Czech republic.

With the conversion kit, they installed it and it shifts like a charm now ! Living in Southern Ontario, Canada, it is stored in the garage during the winter months, but enjoy it spring, summer and fall !!
* David Lowth's MG Midget competing in the MG Sprite Midget Challenge back in 1987. Seen here close up.
* Mark Morrison' 1972 Midget from Portland, OR , USA. I bought the car about a year ago and just finished restoring it recently. It had been sitting next to the previous owner's garage, where a vandal went at it with an aluminum baseball bat. Needless to say, there was lots of bodywork i needed to do. It was totally rust free though, and it was cheap. I did all the work myself, except the paint, which i had a friend do in my garage for a six pack of ale. I drive it nearly everyday, and hope to do a little racing with it this summer.

We still look forward to bringing it out in the late spring and driving it for the summer. It's like getting a new car every year!
* Daan-Paul van Kerkhoff's 1972 Midget My 1972 MG Midget is now in concours condition. Here you see me an my pride and joy shortly before I changed the complete front suspension. The new mini light wheels look 'the parts' in my humble opinion. For shows I can still use my rostyles, but for driving the mini lights are the best. The car has been completely restored with new hydrolics, electrics, suspension, engine and gearbox, carbs and ignition topped off with a complete bare metal respray and new interior and hood. The complete story of the restoration can be read on my site which is being restyled as we speak: http://home.hccnet.nl/d.p.kerkhoff/
