MG TD/TF Parts with Numbers

These pages list all of the known parts on an MGTD/TF that have number stamps. These numbers could represent the part number, a serial or sequencial number, or some other unknown code.

1	TD Wiper Motor	CW1 refers to model and DA34 is the sub type for a TD wiper motor. 12V is 12 Volt DC. 75051D is the part number for the motor. The 10 50 is the month and year of manufacture.
2	Tachometer Reduction Drive	R141 refers to model. 2.25:1 is the reduction ratio. Pictured is a 1950 era drive with a separate tag. Later models numbers were stamped on the body
3	Early Generator Pully	R2 refers to part. R5 was another part number. 24414 is the
4	Slip Sleeve Yoke	Shaft has D2 7C. Not sure what the D was for. 2 was for a flange yoke. 7C was the series. Collar has F&P 7.
5	Driveshaft	Arrow may represent balance point. C like icon maybe a trade mark. 4?? uncertain.
6	MOWOG Differential Ratio	8 / 41 is the ratio (5.125:1).
7	MOWOG Differential Number	4413 is assumed to be a sequential number for this rear axle. Not sure what the 5 is.
8	MOWOG Differential Half Case Number	101536 is assumed to be the case type number. Other half of #9 Not sure what the LRY8 stands for.
9	MOWOG Differential Half Case Number	101537-S-Y is assumed to be the case type number. Other half of #8.
10	Rear Axle Number	The 074A C1 are assummed to be car specific as they are stamped. Not sure what the symbol at the top is.
11	MOWOG Rear Leaf Spring	139106Y AAJ is assummed to be the leaf spring part number. The 7-50 is the month and year the leaf spring was made.
12	Steering Knuckle	Cast 4292 is assumed to be the part number.
13	Steering Column Adjustment Clamp	PAT No 457660 which is obviously the patent number for the clamp.
14	Engine Castings	XPAG and XPEG block and head casting numbers and logos by Roger Wilson
15	Body Bucket	Stamped in the wood frame at the left door is a body sequence number which is also on the body plate on the firewall.
16	Radiator	Patent Plate
17	Radiator Tank Plate	ARG0517 is the part number of the radiator. 403 is the year and month (1954 March). The last number is believed to be the production number for that month.
18	Side Curtain Patent Plate	Found on the right door side curtain.
19	Fuel Tank Sending Unit	FT5786 is the type. Not sure what the last two digits represent. Have seen various numbers from 00 to 07.
20	Wire Loom Tag	Found on the ground wire for the fuel pump it is a sequence number for the wiring loom.
21	Tacalemit Oil Filter Tag	Found on the body of the Tacalemit oil filter is a tag for the part number and filter element number.
22	Generator	The type, model and part number. Model is C39PV, Type is DA41, part is 22265 and voltage is 12V.
23	Lucas 700 Headlamp	The name LUCAS S700 along with Made in England is stamped on the bottom of the lamp housing.
24	Early Air Cleaner Body	Not sure what the number refers to. Possibly the part number. On the outside edge of the body that attaches to the intake manifold.
25	Early Air Cleaner Lid	This is believed to be a patent number for the early TD air cleaner lid. "PAT. Nos. 391180 AC MADE IN ENGLAND"
26	Later Air Cleaner Body	Not sure what the number refers to. Possibly the part number. On the outside edge of the body that attaches to the intake manifold.

1	Laystall Head	The day-month-year (ie 8-4-54), model and serial number are stamped on the top of the head.
