This section provides technical information about the MGTD. The format follows the workshop manual with each item of this website in its appropriate workshop manual chapter. In addition you will find access to the mg-cars.org.uk TD/TF forum archives on these pages with various precanned searches within each chapter for common interst items for quick reviews.
Information about the engine and its function such as the sump, oil pump, big end bearings, rocker assembly, cylinder head, pistons, connecting rods, cylinders, pistons, manifolds, water pumo, timing chain, tappets, valves, crankshaft, engine mounts, push-rods, camshaft, flywheel and removal of the engine/transmission.
Information about the fuel system and its function such as the fuel tank, fuel pump and the carburetters and their adjustment.
This section covers the ingintion equipment in the car including low tension circuits, high tension cables, spark plugs, contact breaker, distributor, condenser, distributor brushes, and high lift cams.
