  This section begins with a table of general data and then covers topics such as preparing for the road and the MGTD's driving controls.

• Cockpit Details (Pages 12 to 16)

  There are specific details in this section on the operations of your car such as switches, lamps, gauges, the instruments and driving adjustments.

• Maintenance (Pages 17 to 19)

  Here are items to maintain on your car such as the engine, the hydraulic brakes, the hand brake, spark plugs and cold weather precautions.

• Hood and Sidescreen Storage (Pages 20 to 24)

  This section starts with a quick synopsis of good driving habits and then proceeds to describe how to put the hood and sidescreens away properly.

• Tracing Troubles (Pages 25 to 28)

  This information will provide hints on tracing engine troubles and their possible root cause.

• Wheels and Tyres (Pages 29 to 32)

  This section describes the wheels and tyres of the car and simple maintenance the can be performed to keep them in running order. Also included is a page on the upholstery and using the jack.

• Hydraulic and Parking Brake Maintenance (Pages 33 to 35)

  This section covers the front and rear hydraulic brake replacement and adjustement. It also covers adjusting the parking brake and explains the front and rear suspension.

• Lubrication (Pages 36 to 44)

  Your car will need periodic lubrication and this section will explain what types of lubricants to use, where to apply them and how often you will need to perform the work.

• Periodical Attention (Pages 45 to 49)

  This section describe items that you will need to keep track of periodically. Also covered are the changes required for cold weather climates during seasonal shifts, the 500 mile free service provided by MG and a quick overview on cleaning and adjusting spark plugs.

• The Fuel System (Pages 50 to 52)

  This information helps you keep the carburetters and fuel pump operating at peak performance.

• Electrical Equipment (Pages 53 to 61)

  This information helps you manage and maintain all of the electrical equipment in the car. Also included is the correct lamp replacement bulbs.

• Locate & Remedy Trouble (Pages 62 to 65)

  Information in this section will help you locate and remedy problems that may appear.

• Closing (Pages 66 to Back Cover)

  In the closing pages we have a wiring diagram of the car, a picture of the car with the hood up, an image of the interior lubrication of the engine or a guarantee, comments on service parts and how to contact the company. Also included is a lubrication chart of the chassis.

A copy of this book is sent out with every M.G. 'TD' Midget car. Additional copies can be obtained at a nominal price. If your car no longer has the printed manual, reproductions are available from Brooklands Books and their agents worldwide.

This version of the MGTD Owners Manual is tailored to your cars characteristics through the above settings. While the figures are copies from one or more specific editions of the owners manuals, the actual pages here are reproductions using computer language for ease of readability. While every effort was made to reproduce the exact words and type, there are some differences in terms of layout and splitting of words during justification. The type fonts of the original manuals were very specific to MG but I have tried to choose type faces that are very similar.
