Picture of the Month
February 2003
Here is this month's picture. We hope to update this feature with a fresh picture every month. Please contact me via our Contact Us page and asking me to contact you for a picture. We have changed our email contact procedures in order to prevent spammers so apologies for any inconvenience. Ideally they should be of something special, a special location and your Y, an interesting close up shot of a lesser seen part of a Y that you think will be of help or interest to others, etc. Please also send a couple of lines of text to go with the picture.
This month's picture was sent in by Robert Grounds, who currently does not have a Y. The picture shows his mother, Lola Grounds in the driving seat. The year and the passenger are unknown but the plaque shows it to be the RAC Rally of Great Britain, entry number 231. Note the 'Horn' on the door handle. Robert goes on to say "this car was probably Lola's mother-in-law Minnie Grounds daily car, borrowed for the event. The "KOL" registration number was issued in Birmingham in February 1949".
If anyone out there knows any further information, or can identify the year from RAC records, please contact the webmaster. A big "thank you" to Robert for such an interesting picture too.
