After looking for four articles on the Superchargers that have been fitted to MG Y Types that I was convinced I had put on the website somewhere but could not find I eventually found them in our Reprinted Articles library! While that is a great place for them, I decided to also add them in a seperate section to our Technical Data page too as that is also a logical place for them.

It is with great sorrow that I have to tell you that Dennis Doubtfire passed away on Tuesday 9th December 2025. He was feeling perfectly fit in the morning but became ill and passed away after being taken to hospital.
I know many of you knew him well and those who never met him are very aware of his great contribution to the register, to the Y type's continuing existence and to the friendly community that exists around our cars.
In 1991 Dennis was the leading light in forming the present MG Car Club Y Type Register. Together with Colin Rea, he gathered interested Y owners together and formed the first Y Register committee. Their first major event was a Tour of Brittany in 1992 by 6 Y saloons, this was followed by the first Spring Run in 1997 when 39 cars attended to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Y, The Y Register became so successful that it was awarded the Nuffield Gold Cup by the club directors the following year.
Although having been unable to drive his YB for some years, Dennis could not bring himself to part with it. He continued to follow our activities with great interest and passed his considerable collection of Y memorabilia to us 3 years ago.
He was a lovely gentle man and Y owners will remember him for many years to come.
RIP Dennis.

This month's Picture of the Month is again provided courtesy of Paul Young.
We are in need of more pictures for the Picture of the Month feature so please send them into the Webmaster using the link to me on our Contact Us page and asking me to contact you for a picture. Apologies if this is convoluted but it is a necessary security precaution we have to go through to prevent scamming of our email addresses by putting our email addresses on the website directly where robot webspiders can find them. If you already have a note of my email address you can send them direct still too.
