Necessity being the mother of invention, according to the old saying, a couple of new parts have been added to the  Parts Drawings page.  As before, if you have had to dimensionally draw up a part to either make yourself, or to have fabricated, please send it in so that others may benefit from your knowledge and we will add it to this page.  This page can also be accessed from the Technical Centre option from the Parts Drawings option on the sub menu of the main contents panel.

As many of you will know who receive Safety Fast on a regular basis, the MG Car Club Y Type Register has a regular feature article.  Now the entire back catalogue of these has been scanned and can be downloaded individually from the Downloadables section at the side margin of this news page at any time.  It has been interesting going back over the back issues and looking at the topics raised.  We hope you will find this page useful and interesting too.  See the new item.

Please welcome Henry & Marlies Hebels who are the new owners of Y 7142 to Ys on Parade.  They have a workshop in Eindhoven dedicated to the servicing of British Sportscars: MGs, Triumphs, Jensons etc. Details of their garage facilities can be viewed at www.britishsportscars.nl.

Photographs are beginning to come in from the UK weekend and have been added to the special page of photographs from this special Diamond year. I am sure that additional photographs and comments will be added in due course.

The mid-month Reprinted Article is from January 1948 publication of Australian Motor Manual and is titled "M.G. presents a new 1 1/4 litre saloon ... a review of a quality small car".  It is the 100th article to be released - plenty more to come for your enjoyment, do not worry!

We are also pleased to announce the release of stills from the films 'Evelyn' and 'Dance with a Stranger' by kind permission of MGM Clip+Still.  These have been added to the Ys on film ... and other media page.

Although many parts are available as 'New Old Stock' (NOS), second-hand, or remanufactured for TCs and TDs, some parts are totally unavailable and will have to be made up either by yourself, of a fabricater.  To help eliminate some of the guess work involved in this process, we hope to bring you measured drawings and templates where previous restorers have had items made on a new Parts Drawings page.  If you have had to dimensionally draw up a part to either make yourself, or to have fabricated, please send it in so that others may benefit from your knowledge and we will add it to this page.  This page can also be accessed from the Technical Centre option from the Parts Drawings option on the sub menu of the main contents panel.

As the UK Spring Run draws near the Picture of the Month harks back to the Spring Run of 2002.
