While I was away in the UK I obtained a couple of old editions of The Autocar from 1949 and 1950 which had a couple of interesting articles featuring the MG Y Type and these have been added to the Snippets page. The one from 1949 is especially interesting as it is an advert for a car for sale that is described as an "M.G. 1 1/4-litre fitted with very attractive and special 2-door saloon". What is puzzling is the term Saloon when the Y/T was always referred to as a Tourer ... so is this a special bodied saloon or just a misunderstanding of wording?

Once again the pressure of work and travel has caused me to be late with the updates to the site but better late than never, this month's Picture of the Month is a fabulous picture from Brian Keene in California with his Y 1153.
By means of apology (and also because I will still be travelling internationally) March's mid-month reprinted article has also been released today. You will need to scroll down a bit to find it as it comes from the Spring of 1994 and is a report on Brian Cox welding in some new metal into his Y in Practical Classics. - Does that sound familiar to some Y Type owners?
We are running very low on pictures for the Picture of the Month line up and will run out of candidates very soon so please contact me via our Contact Us page and asking me to contact you for a picture. We have changed our email contact procedures in order to prevent spammers so apologies for any inconvenience.
