With the recent launch of the MGCC Y Register site we are moving all of our pages from www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgccy/... to www.mg-cars.org.uk/imgyr/... . This change to our hosting pages has been undertaken, at the initiative of the IMGYR to facilitate clarity between the two sites, and should be completely transparent to the vast majority. If you access the site via www.mgytypes.org this will not affect you in any way and this remains the best way to enter the site. You may experience some problems accessing the site, or portions of it, and if you do, please contact the Webmaster to explain where you were on the site and where you were trying to go. Thank you.

We have been informed by the MG Car Club's Y Register in the UK that they have launched their new website today (8th October 2010). The website is located at www.mgccyregister.com. Their initial objectives are to provide a platform for their Regalia and Restoration Shop and a means to administer the MG Car Club Y Type Register. The International Y Register wishes the MGCC Y Register every success with this new venture and hopes that this additional resource will further enhance the profile of the MG Y Types.

We all have stories of driving in the rain ... and arriving with a wet lap.  Many times this is correctly blamed on the big, external seal that goes around the outside of the chrome surround.  However, when I was driving my Y recently I happened to notice a bead of water forming on the inside above the chrome surround.  I watched (while paying attention to the road too) as this swelled ... and then fell onto my leg.  The source of the water ingress was not the outer seal of the windscreen but a failure of the inner surround seal.  See Hints and Tips for a cure for this!
