Service tools for use in the MG Series Y

24 December 2010

Captain Bill Hiland's website featuring the restoration of his Y 4629 has been added to the Links page.

22 December 2010

Happy Christmas to you all, and if Christmas is not your thing, Happy Holidays instead. Today I received my latest acquisitions in my collection of MG Y Contemporary Advertisements, and Sales Brochures so these have been added to the site.

21 December 2010

A new Hint and Tip on fitting a higher ratio rear differential has been added by Tony Slattery.

Also, some new links to other websites have been added to the Links page too.

19 December 2010

Today, please welcome Neil Coombes with Y 1385 and YB 1461 to Ys on Parade.

18 December 2010

Tony Slattery (Australia Representative) is organising an MG Holiday luncheon for 23 December 2010 and all are invited to attend.

15 December 2010

The mid-month Reprinted Article has been added and comes from the August 1989 edition of MG Enthusiast entitled "Ugly duckling shows its feathers".

The MG Car Club Y Type Register has also been added to the Links page with a link to their Regalia page too.

8 December 2010

Today, please welcome Judith Edwards, daughter of the former Secretary to the MG Car Club Y Type Register John Edwards to Ys on Parade as the new owner of Y 5650.

David Mullen has also advised of two new websites with MG Y Type content - Old Classic Car and Prewarcar.com ... but we will not hold a slip of time against them since the latter site has two great photos of a Y too (check out the hyperlinks on the page). These have both been added to the Links page too.

For USA and Canadian Y Type owners, details are also available for the MG 2011 All Registers Meeting in Reno, NV and registration is now open.  A strong contingent of Y Types in attendance would ensure that we get our own class ... rather than being classed as "Variants" so register early at the Official site.  Let us have a really strong showing!  If any owners are interested Passport Transportation can ship your car to and from the show saving you the drive - contact the Webmaster for more details about this service as I used them in 2010.

5 December 2010

Gary Mitchell has kindly provided another photograph of Y 2081 with its rear wheel spat covers fitted.  This has been added to Interesting Ys.

The MG Car Club Y Type Register has also confirmed dates and some of the arrangements for the UK MG Y Type Spring Run.  Details can be found on the Events page.

4 December 2010

Peter Sharp has sent in another Collectible postcard.

1 December 2010

The Reprinted Article comes from Classic Car Mart, January 2009 and features John Harris' Y 0364 in a great article called "Why a 'Y'".

Peter Vielvoye, Chairman of the MG Car Club Y Type Register, sent in this month's Picture of the Month from January, 2010.
