22 August 2008

Somewhat belated, but the mid-month Reprinted Article has been released!  From the MG Magazine of Spring (I believe) 1989, it is an excellent four page article entitled "Comfort fast: M.G.'s Post War Sports Sedan".

19 August 2008

The South Australia MG Car Club are organising a 60th Anniversary Run to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the launch of the YT.  Details can be found on the Events page.

Today, please welcome Caroline Define and YT 4457 (a close relative of my own YT 4455) to Ys on Parade!

11 August 2008

The eagle eyes of Karel Vermeer spotted an MG YT on a post card from Ireland.  This has been added to the Collectibles page.

Murray Grainger has also advised on a very subtle fitment solution for rear flashing indicators which has been added to the Hints and Tips page.

Visitors new and old are reminded that a technical Q & A Advice service is provided by Paul Barrow and Tony Slattery to assist with technical problems.

7 August 2008

The Technical Centre menu has been augmented, again!  This time we are pleased to include an entirely new concept - Technical Videos.  US owners will be very familiar with the famous John Twist and University Motors Limited.  John has done a number of MG related short technical videos that have been posted on YouTube, and although none of his videos are specifically on MG Ys there are several that are on T Types and even some of those on the MGB have technical relevance and can easily be cross applied to the MG Y as so much of the mechanicals were carried over from the brilliantly technically advanced Y pioneered engineering.  A quick link is provided here, but the permanent link can be found by hovering over the Technical Centre button on the far left menu and selecting Technical Videos from the list.

6 August 2008

Ellen Wilson has updated the text for Y 1126.

1 August 2008

Andrew Coulson has sent in a report from the Ripon Old Car Show. A link for this is on the Events page, but it can also be accessed here.

The Reprinted Article continues the run of articles from the US Publication 'MG Magazine', but now jumps forward to the Fall of 1988 .  It is a short data summary on the MG YT.

The Picture of the Month this month comes from Nico Dressen of the Netherlands. Thank you Nico, and when the painting is done, please send us a photograph for the Artist's Impressions page too!
